Promotion of the product brand of Titanis Sp. z o. o. on foreign markets

Titanis Sp. z o. o. implements a project entitled “Promotion of the product brand of Titanis Sp. z o. o. on foreign markets” co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under sub-measure 3.3.3 “Support for SMEs in the promotion of product brands – Go to Brand” of the Smart Growth Operational Program 2014-2020.

The aim of the project is to increase the competitiveness of Titanis Sp. z o. o. through the internationalization of business activities. The specific objectives are:

  • development of export activities on selected target markets,
  • development of the network of contacts and expansion of the database of foreign contractors,
  • building the company's recognition on the international market,
  • promotion of the Titanis product brand.

The objectives will be achieved through the implementation of the following activities:

  1. Participation in foreign fair and exhibition events as an exhibitor.
  2. Participation in foreign missions.
  3. Preparation of a foreign-language website and promotional videos.

Planned effects of the project:

  • increase in revenues from the sale of products for export,
  • signing new foreign contracts,
  • Increased company recognition on foreign markets.

Clinical TeleNeuroforma - clinically verifed home rehabilitation system for people suffering from selected neurological conditions

Project description:

Neuroforma is an innovative computer program designed to improve motor and cognitive functions. The program employs virtual reality elements. It is designed for patients who have suffered a brain trauma or who suffer from neurological diseases.

As part of the Project, Neuroforma will be expanded to include new exercise modules with particular emphasis on the needs of people suffering from Huntington’s disease, spinocerebellar ataxia, and multiple sclerosis. Subsequently, the expanded tool will undergo clinical trials, designed to prove Neuroforma’s effectiveness in the aforementioned clinical groups.

The project is implemented by a consortium composed of: Titanis Sp. z o. o., The Psychiatry and Neurology Institute, Mossakowski Medical Research Centre of Polish Academy of Sciences, Polish Multiple Sclerosis Society, Polish Huntington’s Disease Association, and Spinocerebellar Ataxia Families Association. The project is co-financed by NCBiR as part of the “Social Innovations” program.

Neuroforma - innovative neurological rehabilitation support

Project description:

Neuroforma is an innovative computer program designed to improve motor and cognitive functions. The program employs virtual reality elements. It is designed for patients who have suffered a brain trauma or who suffer from neurological diseases.

Neuroforma is used in clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centres and therapy rooms as a tool supporting neurorehabilitation, it is also used by patients at home - as a tool for individual exercises.

From the very beginning Neuroforma has been developed in cooperation with scientific institutions. We believe in the “little steps” strategy - from the original version based on practitioners’ knowledge and scientific consultations, through the development of new, innovative therapeutic and diagnostic methods, to clinical trials.

Neuroforma comes in three versions: for rehabilitation centres, for therapists, and for patients.

Neuroforma for rehabilitation centres

Convenient, portable station including a big screen, computer system and 3D technology optical system. It’s designed for those rehabilitation centres which want to gain time and convenience, more satisfied and committed patients, better therapeutic results.

Neuroforma for patients

Neuroforma is a computer program for independent motor and cognitive exercises. It offers the possibility to exercise using one’s computer and webcam.

Patients using Neuroforma have access to over 20 exercise modules. They can create their own multi-exercise training programs and keep track of their progress.

Autilius - unearthly therapy support

Project description:

Autilius is a computer system for therapy of children with autism, developed by the Autilius company in cooperation with scientists from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw, and with Titanis Sp. z o. o. as the technological partner. Autilius is a comprehensive tool which supports the development of social attention, cognitive and social skills, imitation and other areas that require support in autistic spectrum disorders. Its simple yet attractive form, tailored to the needs of ASD children, as well as methods of modern psychological therapy currents contribute to the value of the system under development.

The first version of the system was tested by the Primeon Sp. z o. o. company as part of a project funded by the National Centre for Research and Development. The tests were aimed at optimizing therapeutic games by verifying the effectiveness of systematic work with the program, as compared to traditional therapy.

Autilius Joint Attention, currently on sale, is a program which supports the therapy of skills relative to social attention: following eye gaze and head turn, understanding pointing and initiating contact. It includes therapeutic games that can be controlled through three interfaces: mouse, touch and motion (motion capture technology).

PISAK - Polish Integrative System of Alternative Communication

Project description:

The central aim of the project is to counteract social exclusion of disabled adults. The group at the highest risk of exclusion are disabled people unable to communicate with their environment. In order to help such people, the project aims at developing a complete software platform and affordable hardware elements that would provide for independent communication and workshop classes using the platform and hardware created.

The software developed under the project will be shared under open licences and available free of charge, and so will be device designs (switches, simple eye trackers) and social rehabilitation programs.

The project is carried out by a consortium composed of: BrainTech sp. z o. o., Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw, the "Ożarowska" association and the "Mówić Bez Słów" association, with Titanis acting as the technological partner. The project is financed by The National Centre for Research and Development within the framework of the “Social Innovations” programme.

Peer Volunteer Programme for adolescents with autism

Project description:

The aim of the project is the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary to implement an innovative peer volunteer programme providing social support for ADS adolescents and adults.

The developed solutions are going to be evaluated in the pilot phase. Both testing results and technological solutions (online application) will be available to the public as a system of practices ready for implementation.

The project is carried out by a consortium comprising: University of Warsaw, Eugeniusz Piasecki Academy of Physical Education in Poznań, “Ukryty Potencjał” (Hidden Potential) Social Innovation Association, Titanis Sp. z o.o.(www.spisautyzmu.pl ).

DynamicCognition - use of computer-based exercises in cognitive function and balance training

Project description:

Since January 2013 we've been supporting our CEO Mateusz Kruszyński's project, titled "DynamicCognition - innovative computer training of cognitive functions with the use of  visual feedback and body balance controlled interface - 'proof of concept' research", in pursuit of a grant from the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP website ).

The final aim of the DynamicCognition project is the creation of innovative products that will support therapy for cognitive and motor disorders in the course of diseases and ageing.

Impairment of cognitive functions, such as attention, memory, and information processing speed, as well as the impairment of motor and sensory functions cause patients and older people to lose the ability to lead an independent life. It is a big problem, the overcoming of which is a big challenge for technology innovators.

DynamicCognition brings together proven methods of cognitive and motor rehabilitation, through the use of engaging forms of computer games and inexpensive and accessible devices which allow users to interact with the program in unprecedented ways.

The aim of the research is an assessment of the effectiveness of computer games combining balance and cognitive exercises in therapy.

Development of a reinforcement system for Neuroforma

The project is carried out in collaboration with scientists from the Medical University of Warsaw under the "Internship as a stepping stone to researcher’s success" programme. The objective of the project was to evaluate opportunities to develop Neuroforma for creating paediatric rehabilitation procedure and rehabilitation of patients with orthopaedic disorders.

 

Scientific research

Open BCI and Svarog: brain–computer interfaces and research using EEG signal

For several years we've been actively participating in the development of the "OpenBCI" and "Svarog" projects, initiated and financed by the Biomedical Physics Division of the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw.

The aforementioned projects concern both brain–computer interfaces, as well as a broader spectrum of EEG signal related matters, e.g. signal acquisition and analysis and conducting scientific experiments.

Within the framework of these projects, we are currently supporting a partner company, which in 2012 took over the development of the whole platform, resulting in the world's first EEG laboratory equipped with Open Source software based tools.

Doctoral thesis: The use of Virtual Reality in the rehabilitation of brain stroke patients

As part of Neuroforma development and effectiveness testing process, we are cooperating with Alicja Banaś - PhD student from the Poznań University of Medical Sciences.

Together with Alicja, we are testing the effectiveness of the Neuroforma rehabilitation exercise set on patients who have suffered a brain stroke.

Doctoral thesis: Influence of computer interface on children's performance of educational tasks

n collaboration with the Department of Cognitive Processes of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Warsaw we are developing software used in the research conducted by Kinga Wojaczek, a doctoral student. Thesis subject: “Influence of computer interface on cognitive functioning of ASD children and typically developing children performing educational tasks”.

Doctoral thesis: Computer testing of autistic children's siblings

In cooperation with the the University of Warsaw’s Department of Rehabilitation of the Faculty of Psychology we are creating a set of research tools in the form of computer games to be used to test various aspects of child's functioning.

The games created will be a part of the doctoral research concerning the siblings of autistic children.

Pilot study: Search for motor indicators of the progression of dementia

In collaboration with prof. Stanisław Kowalik of the Eugeniusz Piasecki Academy of Physical Education in Poznań we conducted pilot research exploring the possibilities to use motor features (measured by tools used in Neuroforma) to diagnose the progression of dementia.

Content optimization in Neuroforma

In collaboration with researchers from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw who run the Clinical Neuropsychology specialization and their students, we conduct research with the aim to create and optimize the contents used in Neuroforma.

Analysis of usefulness of Neuroforma exercises in eye-hand coordination assessment

The cooperation with the Rehabilitation Institute of the Department of Physiotherapy of the Second Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw tests were conducted aimed at verifying selected exercises of Neuroforma in terms of their use as a measurement tools for eye-hand coordination. The results of testing were published as an article in the Polish Journal of Sports Medicine. ( http://journals.indexcopernicus.com/abstract.php?icid=1150326 )

Neuroforma research in spinocerebellar ataxia patients

As part of the rehabilitation camps of the Polish Association of Families with Spinocerebellar, Leszek Czerwosz from the Medical Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences has been conducting Neuroforma trial testing which allows us to constantly improve the software.

Neuroforma research in multiple sclerosis patients

As part of a bachelor thesis written at the Cognitive Science faculty at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, we participated in Neuroforma research conducted with the participation of multiple sclerosis patients aimed at verifying various methods of supporting patients in their systematic work at home.

Use of Neuroforma in therapy of patients with schizophrenia

In cooperation with the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw and the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology we have been researching the possibilities to use Neuroforma in cognitive rehabilitation of schizophrenia patients.

Neuroforma research in Huntington’s disease patients

Together with the Polish Huntington's Disease Association, we have been investigating the impact of home rehabilitation using Neuroforma on motivation to daily exercise, quality of life as well as cognitive and motor functioning of those suffering from Huntington's disease.

Neuroforma research in post-stroke patients

In collaboration between Prof. Józef Opara and Jerzy Ziętek Górnośląskie Rehabilitation Centre "Repty" we conducted tests on the application of Neuroforma as a tool for mirror therapy targeted at post-stroke patients.

 

OTHER PROJECTS

BRAIN exhibition

We acted as content partner and executor of part of the technologically advanced exhibits at the Brain 2013 exhibition.

At the exhibition one could see, inter alia, video games based on psychological experiments, a chatbot pretending to be a human interlocutor, optical illusions, interactive animations, and brain visualizations.

At the exhibition one could also test a demonstration version of our Neuroforma project - a tool supporting neurological rehabilitation at home.
